Golden Quilt Donated to Benefit GRROW |
Northern Flyway Golden Retriever Club, was lucky enough to have a talented & generous friend create, and donate, a very special quilt, featuring Goldens and some of the dog sports enjoyed by the breed. The quilt is unique, in that each triangle and square has been cut, hand pieced, and sewn by the same person. Four squares highlight four major areas in which Goldens compete. Two of the embroidered designs (the obedience and tracking) were created and digitized specifically for this quilt. The back is a blue/brown plaid with quilting material between the two material layers. The designs will be outline stitched during the quilting process and paw prints will be used for at least part of the quilt stitching.
Tickets are $5 each or 6 tickets for $25. NRFGRC has selected Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin's (GRRoW) special needs fund as the recipient of the donations of the raffle.
The quilt will be on display at the upcoming NFGRC events throughout the year – drawing to be held at the NFGRC December Potluck meeting. Thanks to Deb Seline of NFGRC for her efforts with this extraordinarily generous opportunity to support GRROW.
To purchase tickets, email Deb S. at dseline@frontiernet.net or contact her at 715-526-8010
GRRoW hopes we can "borrow" the quilt and have tickets available for sale at GRRoW's Tails on Trails Dog Walk on October 23, 2010 at Lapham Peak State Park.

This website, above all, is meant as a tribute to the dogs that have become a part of us through our work, and to the many volunteers who give a second chance to these beautiful animals.
GRRoW is the oldest statewide, all volunteer, non-profit rescue dedicated to helping unwanted, abandoned or surrendered Goldens find forever homes. Since May of 2000, GRRoW has rescued more than 1,750 Goldens.

GRRoW's Mission Statement |
To encourage and promote responsible dog ownership and to reduce the abuse and neglect of all Golden Retrievers through rehabilitation and adoption.
To do all in our power to assure the humane treatment of Golden Retrievers and to accept unwanted Golden Retrievers, care for them medically, spay/neuter and rehabilitate them and place them in caring homes.
To educate the public in responsible dog ownership to include proper health, spay/neutering, nutrition, training and good canine citizenship.
To discourage unwanted or careless breeding practices and promote humane care for all dogs.
A GRRoW volunteer will meet with you in your home, to help you find the most suitable rescue Golden for your family. For more information, please read our Adoption FAQ..
You may see certain kennels claiming to be placing "rescued" dogs. Please note that GRRoW does not place dogs "for sale" or "for adoption" with any kennels. We will also never place adult dogs who have not been spayed or neutered. This is also true for any legitimate rescue organization. Always approach a kennel advertising "rescue" dogs with extreme caution.
At this time, we are only accepting adoption applications of Wisconsin residents. We encourage you to locate the rescue organization closest to you.
If you are looking to surrender a Golden, contact GRRoW's Surrender Hotline at 1-888-655-4753. Once passing a temperament assessment, surrendered Goldens will be fostered in the home of a qualified GRRoW volunteer. When the foster home is ready, they will start looking for the Golden's new permanent home. Click here for more information on surrendering your golden and to complete a pre-surrdender form.
GRRoW welcomes you to read the success stories from some of our adoptive homes. If you adopted a Golden from GRRoW, we encourage you to share your story.
There are a number of Volunteer Opportunities in which you can become involved.
Just Dog Breeds "Dog Rescue Award"
