Skye has been with us just shy of 3 months and will be going to her forever home with her new brother. Skye came to us in December as a shy, scared golden who didn’t know much about anything outside of breeding. Within the time she has been with us she has learned to love snow, toys, her foster sisters, playing in the snow, sleeping, eating treats, eating ice cubes, going for walks and just being a dog. She is so much less shy. Her tail is never between her legs it is always up and wagging. She seems happy, but most important is what she has given us, to see her come out of her shell to become the loving, sweet, snuggly girl she is today has been the true blessing. It will be hard to say good-bye she has touched are hearts so dearly but she is going to a new home that will be even more wonderful for her.

Skye is doing well. She is absolutely a sweetheart and we couldn’t be happier with her. She has been taking treats out of our hands for about a week now, plays well with our 1 and 3 year old dogs. We think we finally have a potty schedule (fingers crossed). We have introduced her to another dog and two other people. She was perfect, didn’t seem to mind at all and was not shy or skittish. She seems to be coming along well. It is a beautiful thing to watch her get to become a puppy, this has been an amazing journey.
Some things we still need to work on, she won’t go potty without another dog, she does not like you walking towards her – she retreats, she does not like her collar touched and she is shy when putting the leash on her collar as well. Hopefully all things we can fix but at this time we are thinking she would be best placed with a home with another dog to help continue her advancement.

Skye wanted to wish everyone at GRRoW a Happy New Year and thank you from the bottom of her heart for the opportunity at a true dog life. We see her decompress a little more with each repetition of activity and is enjoying playing and being part of their foster sister’s Moose and Bear’s life. We are continually amazed at the resilience of these beautiful animals and the love they have in their hearts for each other.
