Dog ID: 21-052

Sunshine has found her forever home.

November 29, 2021:

Sunshine is doing great, she is really coming out of her shell. She loves going on walks and spending time with us humans! She goes outside to go potty, no accidents in the house. She loves chew bones and does best with them separately from the other dogs. She can be territorial about bones. She continues to sleep in her crate and does well through the night. She loves being petted and loved on. She is very loveable and likes to cuddle on the couch and watch TV with her humans! She is overall just an awesome girl!.

Sunshine is doing great! She is starting to come out of her shell! She is loves walks and continues to walk well on a leash. She does not pull or try to run after other animals. She has been eating and sleeping well. She still sleeps in her crate and has not tried to escape while we go out for a couple hours at a time. (We watch her on the camera, most of the time she just sleeps).

Sunshine is an escape artist. After disappearing from her first foster home (and being found) she was moved to a home where the humans are home more often.

I just wanted to update you on Sunshine’s first night and day with us. I arrived to pick her up at 4pm, she was very shy at first but did warm up. She got into my SUV without any issues.

We arrived at my house, walked around the yard, she walks well on a leash, she tends to get nervous a walk backwards, it is almost like she wants to be able to see you.

My husband brought our golden out to meet her in the yard, she did not seem to care very much that he was even around she just ignored him lol. She met our two little dogs in the house and she paid zero attention to them. We had a crate set up in the living room for her and she ran right into it. I believe that is were she feels the safest. She laid in the crate for the first couple hours, we took her out side to go potty as I was told she had not pooped in 1.5 days. Our back yard is fenced in and she did well walking around outside. She did not try to dig her way out or exit seek. She does keep an eye on the front door, she has not tried to bolt out when it is opened but she definitely watches when it opens lol.

We put our dogs downstairs and as soon as they were gone she came out of her crate and wondered around upstairs. She even laid on the couch for some nice petting with me. She did not eat until 10pm, we took her out side again at 1030pm before bed and she only urinated. She slept well in her crate, we took her out twice in the night, once at 2 am and she pooped twice and again at 5am and she pooped again. So thank goodness for that.

She ate breakfast today at a normal time and is feeling comfortable enough to go outside and potty when she needs too. She stays in her crate with the door open if our golden is upstairs, she is still getting used to him. He is a bit high strung and wants a friend to play with, she is not having that lol. She shows zero aggression towards us or the other dogs. She does not like to be left alone, if I leave the room she follows me to the gate, I go through the gate and she stands there until I return. She shows zero interest in toys but she does like treats and greenies to chew on. So far she has been wonderful.
