WHY
BECOME A

Dog Advocate

  • A dog advocate (DA) is an intricate part and one of our greatest needs for those who support our volunteers doing the field work. This individual is a cheerleader, record keeper, bookkeeper, timekeeper, pharmacy, and organizer.
  • The DA supports the foster homes from the time they are assigned a foster dog until the Golden is adopted, the records are all compiled, and the file is closed.
  • Through text messages, emails, phone calls, and foster documents, the DA keeps the foster home updated on what to do, when to do it, and then how ro record it all when it’s done.
  • The DA supports the foster home with training tips, emotional support, and sometimes counseling. The rewards are many and culminate when the Golden is placed in its perfect forever home.
  • Enroute to becoming a DA, a major step is completing the foster process. This will help you get a better understanding of the DA position.
